Recipe courtesy of Mill Pond Tavern
2 pounds chicken wings
1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
1 tablespoon chives, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup clover honey
Barbecue Garlic Drizzle
3 tablespoons butter
3 large cloves garlic, minced
Pinch of cayenne
1 1⁄2 cups ketchup
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup honey
7 tablespoons soy sauce
In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add tea bags and simmer Place wings in a dish and add the soy sauce, chives, cilantro, garlic, and lemon juice. Toss well to coat; marinate, refrigerated, for at least 2 hours and up to 24 hours.
Remove wings from marinade and pat dry.
Season with salt and pepper
In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter in the olive oil. When the butter stops foaming,
add the honey and chicken wings and fry until browned, about 5 minutes, turning the wings over often to coat them. Continue cooking until sticky and cooked through. Garnish with garlic BBQ sauce drizzle and serve.
Garlic barbecue drizzle: In a small saucepan melt butter over medium heat. Add in garlic and cayenne. Cook, stirring for about 2 minutes or until the garlic is softened. Add in the ketchup, honey and soy sauce.
Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. Simmer for
another 4-5 minutes.
